1:1 and small-group music sessions for young people in care across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
Learn FL Studio basics together: beat-making, lyrics, recording. Child-led after the 12-week induction. Carer attendance and transport is mandatory.
12-Week Programme — How It Works
Every young person starts with a taster, then moves into the programme based on what they need. Here are the four pathways:
Stability Tasters
Emergency / short-term
4–8 weekly sessions building confidence, safety, and aiming to spark an interest in music. No prior musical skills required.
Comprehensive Creative
Long-term stable
6–12 week induction plus ongoing sessions focusing on developing as artists: production, writing, performances.
Creative Therapeutic
Emerging needs
As Offer 2 plus step-up to 6–12 sessions with vetted HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) therapists. We refer and pay. SMART goals, planned endings.
Transitions
17+ leaving care
Workshops plus post-18 reduced-rate studio (£10/hr vs £50). Maintaining an accessible community for care leavers.
12-Week Programme
The core offer. £1,200 for the full 12 weeks, or £100 a week on a rolling contract. Young people build production and songwriting skills with carers side-by-side, then move to child-led creative work after the induction. Includes access to our community days.
Fixed contract or rolling contract, your choice. Sessions are worth £50 an hour and are delivered at our studio in Nottingham City Centre.

Custom-built for your organisation. We come to you, work around your needs, and price it accordingly. Could be a year-long weekly residency at your venue, could be something else entirely. We cater to your needs within our capabilities.

When a young person's time with us comes to an end, the relationship doesn't have to. We offer ongoing touchpoints so the trust built in the studio continues to hold them as they move forward.
Stay Connected
Young people can return for occasional studio sessions and community events, keeping the creative family alive.
Step-Up Therapy
If needs emerge during / after the sessions end, our triage pathway remains open, with funded access to vetted external therapists.
Mobile Outreach Studio
Our mobile studio outreach is now live, bringing a portable, trauma-informed music setup directly to your SEN settings, care homes, schools, or youth services. We deliver tailored 12-week songwriting programmes and taster sessions on-site — fully flexible and travelling to you, so that those facing mobility, sensory, or staffing barriers can still access high-quality, creative engagement.
Not clinical therapy: therapy-informed
Our approach is informed by psychology research on songwriting, improvisation and creativity boosting self-esteem and expression.
Proactive therapy referral process: 3-stage triage (trigger → triage → SMART therapy) via licensed external therapists, therapy pot funded by Only Notts.
